Architecture #3

The Royal Museum of Perak

The Royal Museum of Perak was built in 1926 without a blueprint or a single nail. The museum is made entirely of wood and woven bamboo and rests on 60 wooden pillars. The building is painted in yellow, white, and black – the colours of the Perak flag. Seen from above, it looks like a sword in its scabbard. It served as a temporary residence for Sultan Iskandar Shah, the 30th Sultan of Perak, between 1931 and 1933.
